TI has been sent to prison for possession of illegal weapons, it has been confirmed.
The US rapper is expected to serve between 30 and 60 days after being sentenced to one year and one day by US District Judge Charles Pannell Jr.
He had previously pleaded guilty to attempting to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers.
TI, real name Clifford Harris, issued an apology after the hearing in Atlanta, saying: "Today I would like to say thank you to some, and apologize to all."
The star has already completed 1,000 hours of community service, in a bid to warn young people of the dangers of guns, drugs and violence.
