When her husband, Judah, dies of a sudden heart attack while out with his ten-year-old son, Shane, Nancy Botwin finds herself in a financial crisis. With no other option available to her, she turns to Conrad Shepard and his family to sell cannabis, using a fake bakery to move the goods. Aided by her wayward black-sheep brother-in-law, Andy (Judah's younger brother), she struggles to keep her new means of bill-solving secret from suspicious PTA members and her nosy neighbors as well as from her children, Shane and his teenage brother, Silas. Coping without Judah as the patriarch of the family reflects in the Botwins, especially Shane, who is going through the painful process of growing up without his dad, with Andy as the reluctant and rather poor substitute for father-and-son topics that go with growing up.

Chester French is an American pop music band consisting of two members, Maxwell Drummey and D.A. Wallach. They met as college students at Harvard University, naming their band after sculptor Daniel Chester French, who designed the statue at the Lincoln Memorial, the John Harvard statue, as well as the Minuteman statue at the Lexington/Concord battlegrounds in Massachusetts.[1] Milwaukee-raised Wallach and Boston native Drummey quickly found a lot of shared ground in musical tastes and philosophies and before long formed a band with three other classmates, playing various campus functions, eventually moving in a direction heavily influenced by classic British Northern Soul. Over the summer both stayed in Cambridge, working hard at songwriting. But when school resumed, they realized that the material went way beyond the basic guitar-bass-drums-piano format of the band, and the duo continued the work themselves, Wallach handling most of the vocals, Drummey performing much of the music on multiple instruments, supplemented with the occasional special guest – and both taking production and engineering duties for recordings.

U.S. District Judge Charles A. Pannell Jr. has ruled that T.I. must report to federal authorities in Arkansas on Tuesday (May 25) to begin his one year prison sentence as scheduled. Judge Pannell handed down his decision Friday afternoon (May 22), just one day after attorney’s for the rapper requested a two-week delay.
In March, T.I., born Clifford Harris, was sentenced to serve 366 days in prison for illegal firearms possession and being a convicted felon with a firearm.
Two months later, the rapper was assigned to serve his time at the low security facility of the Forrest City Correctional Institute, less than an hour outside of Memphis, Tennessee.
However, T.I.’s attorneys appealed the Atlanta entertainer’s placement, which was based on a prior offense that was designated to be a serious violent felony.
They maintained in their motion to appeal that the offense in question, a 2003 assault case for which T.I. received 75 hours of community service, “amounted to little more than a ‘scuffle’ at the mall.
“There is nothing more we can do pre-reporting,” T.I.’s lawyer Donald F. Samuel stated “We think he was scored the wrong way."
The petition filed on T.I.’s behalf on Thursday (May 21) requested two weeks to allow the rapper to request that the Bureau of Prisons place him in a minimum security prison camp instead of Forrest City.
Despite Judge Pannell’s decision, Samuel says he plans to continue to ask that his client be re-classified even after T.I. becomes one of the 1500 plus inmates at the Forrest City facility.

After more than a decade of providing a consistent string of hit albums and songs, Jay-Z is leaving Def Jam Records. The rap mogul confirmed the amicable split Thursday (May 21). Jay-Z’s departure from Def Jam puts an end to rumors regarding the buy out of his contract with the iconic label, for a reported $5 million dollars.
During his stint at the Def Jam, Jay-Z transitioned from top-selling artist to music executive.
Jay-Z albums released under the Def Jam umbrella included In My Lifetime Vol. 1, Vol. 2.., Hard Knock Life and Vol. 3...Life and Times of S. Carter as well as The Dynasty: Roc La Familia, The Blueprint, The Blueprint: The Gift and the Curse and The Black Album.
After retiring from music in 2003, Jay-Z was appointed president and co-CEO of Def Jam by Reid.
The rapper’s time as president resulted in the acquisition of R&B/pop hit makers Rihanna and Ne-Yo.
In 2007, Jay-Z announced his resignation from his post as president of Def Jam when his contract was not renewed.
The rapper continued his relationship with the label as he remained on the Roc-a-Fella/Def Jam roster as a recording artist.
Prior to officially stepping down, Jay-Z released his 2006 comeback opus, Kingdom Come.
A year later, the rapper’s concept album, American Gangster, followed.
In 2008, Jay-Z aligned with Live Nation via a wide-ranging deal, record label that included the creation of the Roc Nation record label as well as albums, touring and publishing.
